My father about 1943, Fifth Avenue, New York City.  Yes kids, there was color film during WWII.

I'd love to say that dad was an infantry hero in the Battle of the Bulge but, in fact, he was an airman for the Air Transport Command, ushering generals from the US to Europe and Africa. 

Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't be here now if he hadn't ended up in the ATC.  Good move dad . . . and thanks for the ears.
