This is a snapshot of a pair of local (San Diego) high school baseball players taken a few years ago.

On the left is Kevin Reese, now playing an outstanding Junior season for the University of San Diego Toreros.

On the right is Eric Chavez, the newly anointed third baseman for the Oakland A's, and a leading candidate for AL "Rookie of the Year" honors in 1999.

I thought it might be fun to jazz up this rather bland (sorry Bob), but quite possibly historic, picture.
