The
technique I used to clean up the gold and monochrome backgrounds was a
bit different from the other pictures in this collection.
Here, I found a good area of clean gold (or b/w), and "lassoed" it. Then I "cut and pasted" into the damaged sections. Now, I'd probably use the "rubberstamp" instead. Although this technique worked fine, it did take a bit longer. I Colorized the image in the same way I did the Baseball Players, utilizing the "lasso" and the Image> Adjust> Hue/Saturation menu with "colorize" checked. The challenge was to match the hues to those used by the artists of the 1840-50's. ©
